Two major projects, two cities.  The Virginia Beach Town Center is ready to grow, again.  We’ll take a look at the next phase in building the resort city’s “downtown.”  In Norfolk, “The Tide” construction is rolling along to bring light rail to Hampton Roads.  Will Virginia Beach latch on to the idea?  The President and CEO of Hampton Roads Transit, Michael Townes, joins us along with city leaders from Virginia Beach and Norfolk.  Join host Cathy Lewis as we take a look at where both projects are headed.

Next month marks the 50th anniversary of the desegregation of Norfolk Public Schools – a time of upheaval, social unrest, and change. A lot of attention has been paid to the African American students who bravely crossed the color lines and integrated the schools, but what about the members of the class of 1959? These students lost all but four months of their senior year of high school at a time when “the high school years were our universe”. Join Cathy Lewis for a different perspective of the Massive Resistance movement as we meet members of the “Lost Class of 1959” on What Matters.
