Much has changed since the first Earth Day held in 1970.  “What Matters” is going green in this episode and if you can’t wrap your head around the idea of transforming your home into an energy-saving, lean, green enviro-machine, our panel has a story to tell and what’s more, it might be easier than you think!  You just have to think.  From environmental retrofitting, solar panel installation, and all aspects of earth-friendly alternatives, we’ll examine sustainable homes and the recent boom of “green building."

The Jordan Bridge's closing jammed up local headlines in November, now plans are moving ahead to rebuild the decaying cross-over between Chesapeake and Portsmouth.  That's just one of the many issues a former Virginia Department of Transportation Commissioner talks about on a special edition of "What Matters."  Cathy Lewis goes on-on-one with Phil Shucet about Hampton Roads' transportation:  past, present, and future.

More and more, Hampton Roads is becoming a great canvas for Hollywood.  It's been a frequent backdrop for television shows and motion pictures.  How viable is this industry in today's economy?  What opportunities are there for our area?  What projects can we expect to see?  How does the area attract filmmakers?  So many issues to explore as we turn the camera around and ask our guests: Jeff Frizzell, Commissioner of the Hampton Roads Film Office; Hunter Thomas, film director and Hampton Roads Chairperson with the Virginia Production Alliance; David O'Donnell, Vice President of Development at New Dominion Pictures; and Keith Flippen, film/TV actor and instructor with The Actors' Place.
