When Fort Monroe in Hampton finally appeared on the list of bases to be closed, it seemed like a long time before the keys would be turned over. Now, in one year the army post will transition to civilian control. This week, we consider the future of the fort and what we can expect to see happen as it moves into the hands of the Commonwealth of Virginia.  We'll also talk about The Virginian-Pilot's series, "Free to Fight," on the rich history of Fort Monroe.

Joining host Cathy Lewis for the program:  Bill Armbruster, Executive Director of the Fort Monroe Authority;  Mark Perreault, President of Citizens for a Fort Monroe National Park; John Quarstein, Hampton City Historian and author; and Kate Wiltrout, military affairs reporter with the Virginian-Pilot.
